It is with sad, summer-y, metaphoric tears that I announce that this is both my last email to you all as your Secretary and our last week of UCanDance-ness for 2011.
Free Dancing
Just one more week left, or two nights to be precise.Tonight, Monday the 7th, and Thursday the 10th of November are our last two nights of free dancing.
So make sure you come along from 8.15pm to the College of Education Gymnasium (room 101) for some fun dancing and a break from the study- or in the case of Thursday night.. some celebration dances that you survived the exam period and can finally relax :) (If only for a night).
There shall be a few tiny surprises lined up for Thursday.. and rumour* has it there will be a little gathering, or the likes, after the dancing...
*(It is definite).
Lastly, thank you to everyone who read these emails and who came along to classes and events as a result. Your support has meant so much to the committee who tried endlessly to deliver a nearly-normal-dance-club-year despite all of the struggles.
Personally, I have loved every minute of it. But one of my best moments has got to be when I met a girl at a uni club dinner and she said she recieved UCanDance emails, and was I the "sexytary?" :)
Lastly, if you could all now bring your $10 Secretary thank-you to one of the classes this week it would be greatly appreciated.
Just Kidding. (No money will be accepted, however, dances may be!)

Super short email, so as not to distract you from your study. A reminder that there is no class/free dancing tonight because it's a public holiday, but be sure to come along on Thursday because..
Free Dancing
Starting this Thursday the 27th of October at 8.15pm (until 10pm) we will have free dancing in the usual place (College of Education, Education Gym 101). And it will continue throughout the exam period.
So the term 'free dancing' applies mainly to the lack of a lesson (so you are free to dance whatever and whenever you like), but it also hints to the fact attendance is FREE.
Free, Free, Free.
And who doesn't need a break from the study? And what better way than to dance your socks off? (hopefully not literally, cos dancing
in barefoot can be painful.. but I think you get the jist)..
Halloween themed night
Free dancing on Monday the 31st will be Halloween themed, so feel free (or encouraged!) to attend in costume :)Catch you next week for our next update :)

End of Term Party
The last End of Term Party (for this year) is tonight at 7.30pm (until 10pm) at Villa Maria College. Price is the same as classes: $3 for students, $5 for non-students. But it is more special than a class, as it promises a party atmosphere with nibbles and drink, and cool music played all night (from many different dance genres). So come along for a nice (and much needed) break from the study, and for those of you who have been busy with assignments it's a nice chance to say hello to all the people you've been missing, and reignite those dancing feet!For anyone unsure of where the venue is, visit http://www.ucandance.org/Where.html for clear directions :)
Final Class of 2011
There is only one dance class left for 2011, and that is this Thursday, October 20th. It will take place at the usual time of 8.15pm (finishing at 10.30pm) at Dovedale Campus in the gymnasium, Education room 101. So come along to learn the last set of Modern Jive and Rueda moves :)But before the panic sets in.. (read on for a temporary solution!) *
Free Dancing!
In place of the regular classes, during exams we are providing you all the chance to come along and dance (much like you do at the parties) to a variety of current music, only it will be free attendance!To explain more clearly, starting Thursday October 27th (since Monday the 24th is a public holiday), you can come along to the usual place (Education Gym 101) between 8.15-10pm and dance, dance, dance!
The good news is we wont be flooding your brain with moves to remember at the same time you are trying to absorb all that study material, and you can dance to your hearts content :) :)
Oh, and did I mention: It's FREE ; )

Hi moving-feet friends,
Last Thursday we held the AGM for our club, electing a new committee for 2012! Congratulations to the new committee, and to Michael Adams, our newest life member!
Classes
Classes are still running and we will notify you when this changes, so unless you hear otherwise keep coming along (or start!) to add to your dance knowledge! Education Gymnasium 101 at Dovedale Campus, at 8.15pm each Monday and Thursday! If you've signed up to West Coast Swing, our final class for this will be this Thursday at 7:15pm.

End of Term party
It is time for our End of Term party (a week from today) on Monday October 17th! And sadly, it will be the last one of 2011.
